"Idilio" - Willie Colón
“Idilo” (PDF) from the Willie Colón album Hecho En Puerto Rico
One of Willie Colón’s biggest hits from the post-Fania era was the opening track on his 1993 album for Sony, with the unmistakable trombone leading the salsa groove. “Idilo” was originally composed by the prolific Puerto Rican guitarist “Titi” Amadeo, a legendary figure around New York City and throughout the Spanish-speaking world by way of radio broadcasts of his original recordings. Colon’s arrangement was augmented by the vocal performance of its own recording producer, “Cucco” Pena.
