A graduate of Millikin University, Alex has toured internationally and performed for First Lady Hillary Clinton, DJ Kool Herc, Taj Mahal, Dick Dale, Kurt Elling, STS9, Joe Dart (Vulfpeck), and outfielder George Bell. He won a Madison Area Music Award as a member of the legendary Clyde Stubblefield Band, and also was a featured performer at the City of Chicago Fifth Star Awards, the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival, and Summer Camp Music Festival.

Alex currently collaborates with Mike Maimone, rolls with the Four Star Brass Band, and keeps the dream of the 90’s alive with Don’t Speak: A No Doubt Tribute

In previous roles, Alex contributed to the success of Musicnotes.com as a sheet music engraver, served as the music librarian for the Madison Community Orchestra, and spoke as a guest lecturer and clinician at Millikin and DePaul University.

In 2010, he created trombone.alex, a self-guided study of New Orleans music and an entirely fan-supported project through Patreon crowdfunding, featuring 170+ FREE trombone transcriptions.

In addition to performance and research, Alex assists with online music retail, event production, and also curates content for social media, blog posts, and newsletters to promote audience growth.  He is currently seeking new opportunities that will challenge his creative skills and experience.

Alex is also the son of a magician.
